Creating Sustainable Harbours event; 27th March 2026, South Devon College Marine Academy, Dartmouth

This one-day workshop is organised by South Hams District Council (SHDC) with the support of South Devon College and Maritime UK SW. It is funded by UKSPF and forms part of SHDC’s wider programme of marine decarbonisation activities.
The workshop aims to explore the ways in which small ports and harbours can transition to a more sustainable future. It will focus on the challenges they face and the opportunities available, both of which are quite different to those experienced by larger ports. Above all, the workshop will highlight the significant impact that harbours and small ports can make, not just to their own coastal communities and marine environments, but to the bigger clean marine picture.
The speakers will share their experience of decarbonising diverse fleets, best practice and solutions for charging infrastructure in small harbours, and the technological solutions that can breathe new life into harbours and small ports by unlocking sustainable and circular growth opportunities.
The day will include a Panel Q&A session offering a platform for audience discussion around the decarbonisation strategies and tools that harbours and small ports can adopt to make a difference.
