Alternative options for Short Sea Shipping Routes...

The transport of goods between the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe is predominantly via Dover and Calais, and this route currently attracts over 80% of the traffic. Irish hauliers consistently use the roads in Wales and England as a land bridge to Dover. But there are alternatives into mainland Europe via the western channel ports, Portsmouth, Poole and Plymouth.

SMARTA Business Solutions event; Innovative Solutions: The marine business experience , 20th October 2011, Port Solent...

As part of the SMARTA project, Marine South East will be hosting a series of business-focused match-making events, the first of which is scheduled for Thursday 20th October 2011, at Portsmouth Harbour Yacht Club, Port Solent.

The event will showcase examples of how marine businesses have used external innovation resources to provide solutions to technology based problems.

Case studies from IT Power, Echopilot and Halyard will be presented at the event.
