Marine Tech - Korea 2008, 11-14 November 2008

Venue: CECO, Changwon, South Korea
BMEA is pleased to advise that it has negotiated very economical rates for UK firms to attend this exciting Marine Trade Fair based in Changwon at the centre of Korea’s World leading shipbuilding and maritime industries.
Marine Equipment manufacturers, suppliers and service companies that already have a foothold in the lucrative Korean market should consider this show as well as new companies who wish to enter what is the World’s leading shipbuilding market.
Changwon is about an hours drive from Busan and is situated on the mainland adjacent to Geoje Island the home of leading shipbuilders: Samsung Heavy Industries; Daewoo Heavy Industries and Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. Nearby, on the mainland, is the dynamic STX Shipbuilding Co. Ltd and Jinhae Heavy Industries. Also: SLS Shipbuilding Co. Ltd; Sungdong Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co. Ltd; SPP Shipbuilding Co. Ltd; 21st Century Shipbuilding Co. Ltd and Samho Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. These companies will be exhibiting in a big way at ‘Marine Tech’ and their procurement teams will be on hand. BMEA has recently visited, on one of its regular Trade Missions to Korean, the R&D and procurement centre of STX Shipbuilding Co. Ltd which is based in Changwon itself.
This exhibition will also appeal to UK firms interested in naval Shipbuilding since Daewoo, STX and Samsung will also have their military procurement teams on site. Top Naval procurement personnel will also be present.
The organisers have advised BMEA that they will arrange one-to-one meetings with the procurement teams from the leading shipbuilders at the show. As well as Korean shipbuilders being present, there will also be a number of Korean Shipowners and Operators, the Korean Offshore Industries and a Marine Safety and Security Section.
