Innovate UK is inviting ambitious companies to participate in the Global Business Innovation Programme (GBIP) focused on maritime technologies with South Korea.
This GBIP aims to help UK businesses grow and scale on a global stage through building R&D and innovation collaborations and partnerships.
The programme consists of a Get Ready phase followed by a market visit to South Korea, including a 5-day tailored programme to connect with key stakeholders and leading maritime technology companies.
The programme will provide a unique opportunity to find partners and identify opportunities for technology collaboration. Delegates will benefit from a follow-up Exploit the opportunity workshop and bespoke support from an innovation and growth specialist to leverage the contacts, opportunities and knowledge gained.
The programme is looking for companies developing:
- Technology for integrating into newbuild and retrofitted ships, including alternative fuel systems, battery technology and energy efficiency
- Technology for shipyard and port optimisation and decarbonisation
- Technology that supports the development of green shipping corridors
- Smart shipping, digital and quantum technology, including autonomy, cybersecurity and route optimisation within the maritime space
Registration for this opportunity will close 16th July 2025. A briefing presentation is available here.
Innovate UK will fund and organise flights, accommodation, in-market travel and conference fees for successful applicants, who will have access to business opportunities, support, and international connections through the programme.
