The “One Ocean Summit”1 will take place in Brest from 9th to 11th February 2022.

Ahead of the political segment of the Summit, on 11th February, a set of workshops, forums and events will mobilize all concerned stakeholders (scientists, professionals, EU and governmental organizations) to tackle ocean protection challenges and technological, scientific and environmental transformations. They will contribute in various fields to set out action plans for the ocean.

In this context, under the patronage of the International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO), the Shom, the CCIMBO (Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Brest West Brittany) and partners of a pathfinder European project “Blue Ports” have organized an event entitled:

'S-100: a new standard for navigation safety and ocean protection'

'S-100' is the new IHO standard for "e-navigation" aiming at describing the environment, adopted by the International Maritime Organization. It is considered as a digital revolution of the maritime sector, providing responses to modern e-navigation and sustainable development challenges of ocean activities as well.

As new standard its adoption at international level requires a coordinated collaborative effort. Organisations and stakeholders are warmly invited to join the event to discover this 'S-100' standard and discuss ways forward for its adoption.
