Port Planning and Development for a Sustainable Future 20th October 2011, Portsmouth

The European project PATCH (Ports Adapting To CHange) is funded under the EU Interreg IVA 2 Seas programme. The project has a particular interest in assisting ports in their desire to become more sustainable as they develop. A one day conference has been organised on the subject of Port Planning and Development for a Sustainable Future which will be held at the Portsmouth City Guildhall on Thursday 20 October 2011.

The conference is open to all who have an interest in port and planning matters, and it will feature some practical examples of good practice. The event will run from 1000 to 1600 and a lunch will be provided. Both morning and afternoon sessions will include some time for questions and networking.

* Port Planning and the new localism - Martin Hendry, Adams Hendry

* Planning Port: anticipating logistic growth - Robbert Trompetter, Zeeland Seaports

* Resiliance of port operations - planning for unexpected - Julie Summerell, Serco Training/The Emergency Planning College

* Port environmental planning - Rosie Kelly, Royal Haskoning

* Working with the neighboors - connecting port businesses - Kate Royston, Robbee Smole

* Designing a 21st century port passenger building - Roland Asbridge, Halcrow and Ian Saunders, D5 Architects

* Financing future port developments - Luc Imbrechts, Imbrechts and Van den Nest bvba

There is no cost for the day but places are now limited.
