Maritime Technoclogy Roadmap starts to take shape
Marine South East has been an active participant in the steering group for a project which will populate a roadmap for marine innovation and technology development priorities up to 2020.
This is being funded by the Technology Strategy Board, and led by the Institute for Manufacturing at the University of Cambridge.
MSE was delighted to host the first thematic workshop on 20th September 2011, at its premises on Southampton Science Park, to identify key opportunities and UK capabilities in marine ICT and services. This will provide some detailed content within the overall roadmap.
It is anticipated that the completed roadmap will inform a new marine funding programme, announced by Chief Executive of the Technology Strategy Board, Ian Gray, on 19th September. Meanwhile, Marine South East is keen to continue exploring project ideas in the marine ICT and services field, so that project consortia are in place ready to bid into the new funding programme.
